Community Guidelines

A real community needs real boundaries.

Lift With Meaning should be a place where people can grow without surrendering their dignity, judgment, privacy, or freedom to leave.

Effective September 3, 2026 · Version 2026-09-03-messages-v1

What approval does—and does not—mean

Every person in the directory must first be approved, activate an account, and remain an active member. Approval is a community-fit decision, not a background check, government-identity verification, professional-license verification, endorsement, or guarantee that a person is truthful, safe, qualified, or compatible with you.

Use your own judgment. Do not send money, financial information, passwords, authentication codes, government identifiers, medical records, or other sensitive information because someone appears in the directory or has a particular member role.

Your deliberate agreement

Before viewing or searching for other members or using connection actions, you must separately accept the current version of these guidelines through an unchecked control. That agreement is never inferred from opening an account, submitting an application, accepting other terms, or turning on a visibility setting. Accepting these guidelines does not make your profile discoverable or share your photograph, books, or supported causes; those remain separate choices.

If these guidelines are materially revised under a new version, directory and connection access closes until you read and expressly accept the current version. Your settings and personal data export remain available. Blocking and reporting remain available as safety controls without requiring you to accept a new version first.

Treat people like people

Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, humiliation, coercion, sexual pressure, exploitation, fraud, impersonation, discriminatory abuse, encouragement of violence or self-harm, and retaliation for setting a boundary or making a good-faith report are not allowed.

Disagreement is allowed. Contempt, dehumanization, intimidation, and attempts to force another member’s beliefs, loyalty, money, relationships, or private information are not. No member role makes one person morally superior or gives that person authority over another member’s conscience or life.

Consent and connections

A connection request is an invitation, not a demand. The recipient may accept, decline, ignore, or later remove it without owing an explanation. An accepted connection records mutual willingness to connect inside the feature; it is not an endorsement, friendship guarantee, romantic or sexual consent, permission to contact someone elsewhere, or consent to sell, recruit, fundraise, or ask for money.

The directory does not expose email addresses. Member messages are available only between two active approved members whose connection was accepted and remains accepted. The recipient may disable messaging, block the sender, or remove the connection at any time. Those choices stop new messages. Each participant can read the prior history only while their own member access remains active and they have accepted the current version of these Community Guidelines, unless it is later deleted through a verified privacy process or must be handled differently by law.

These are stored text messages. They are not end-to-end encrypted, are not monitored in real time, and are not an emergency or crisis channel. Do not use them for medical records, passwords, authentication codes, payment-card or financial-account details, or another person’s confidential information.

Lift With Meaning does not routinely scan or read member message text. The community-moderation queue exposes only a message a user deliberately reports and the immutable evidence snapshot created with that report. Authorized personnel or service providers may otherwise access stored messages only when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the service, comply with law, or protect the service or its users. Message text and report evidence are not used for diagnosis, psychological, personality, or risk scoring, Lifter-identity or Beacon-recognition decisions, marketing, XP, or payment decisions.

If you want to move a relationship outside Lift With Meaning, ask clearly and respect the answer. Never pressure another member to provide a phone number, email address, social account, address, meeting location, donation, purchase, or private conversation.

Privacy and confidentiality

Directory visibility is limited to active approved members, not the public internet. That boundary does not make copying harmless. Do not screenshot, reproduce, publish, identify, or share another member’s profile, photograph, reading, supported causes, connection note, or relationship information outside the permission that member clearly gave.

You may preserve and share the minimum evidence reasonably needed for a good-faith safety report, legal request, or emergency response. Otherwise, what another member reveals inside the community stays inside the permission they chose. A connection never expands that permission by itself.

Blocking, reporting, and immediate danger

Blocking removes an existing connection, cancels pending requests between the two accounts, hides both people from each other inside the directory, and prevents new requests while the block remains. The blocked person is not notified by the feature. Blocking cannot erase copies already made, control conduct outside Lift With Meaning, or guarantee that someone will never find another way to make contact.

Use reporting in good faith for conduct that may violate these guidelines. Include only what is reasonably necessary for review; do not add unrelated diagnoses, medical or clinical details, trauma histories, or confidential information about other people. A report goes to private human review. Submitting one never automatically warns, restricts, suspends, removes, or otherwise sanctions the reported member; it does not guarantee a particular outcome or make Lift With Meaning an emergency service.

If someone may be in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service. In the United States, call or text 988 for suicide or emotional-crisis support. Do not wait for a community report to be reviewed.

How moderation works

I may dismiss a report, ask for clarification, give a warning, remove content, restrict directory or connection access, suspend an account, or revoke membership when the available information reasonably supports that response. I may also apply a temporary restriction while a credible safety, privacy, fraud, or security concern is reviewed.

Moderation is human and case-specific. I will consider the conduct, context, available evidence, seriousness, pattern, risk of harm, and whether a narrower response can reasonably protect the community. A report alone is not proof. Decisions will not be based on a legally protected characteristic, economic position, grammar, education, introversion, social awkwardness, eccentricity, a respectful disagreement, declining a request, setting a boundary, blocking someone, or making a good-faith report.

I will limit report and moderation information to people and service providers who reasonably need it to operate, secure, investigate, or protect the community, or to comply with law. I cannot promise absolute anonymity or disclose every detail of a decision when doing so would expose another person’s private information, undermine safety, or violate law.

Appealing a moderation decision

If a warning, restriction, suspension, or revocation directly affects you, you may request reconsideration by emailing trinity@liftwithmeaning.com with the subject “Community Moderation Appeal.” Explain what you believe was misunderstood and include any relevant context you are permitted to share. The appeal will receive a fresh human review; it does not guarantee reversal.

Faith without coercion

Lift With Meaning is openly shaped by Christian faith. No one is required to pretend to hold a belief they do not hold. Everyone is required to engage without contempt, coercion, or hostility toward another person’s sincere convictions, and no one may use faith, status, shame, fear, or belonging as leverage to control another member.

The agreement

These guidelines work together with the Terms, Privacy Policy, and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. Continued access depends on honoring these boundaries. Questions may be sent to trinity@liftwithmeaning.com.
